Very Busy Week

Sorry it has been some time since I last posted. It has been a hectic last week. Last week, Sarah, our day care provider, went on vacation to Mexico. Grandma Vicki came into town to hang out with Miss Jocelyn. She and grandma have been having such a great time together. Well, at the end of the week, we had very many appointments and things to do. Last Thursday, we met with Bev, our family service coordinator. She is the person that makes sure that we get all the support we need including therapy. Jocelyn did a great job showing off all of her new tricks. She was very surprised at how big Jocelyn has gotten. We are going to continue working with Dierdre, our OT, but move it to once a week now since there are so many new activities that Jocelyn is learning. We are also going to start working with a Speech therapist once a month so we can learn some new skills. We will meet again with Bev in 6 months. We went shopping that day and Jocelyn was a happy shopper like always. Then we stopped by my office for all of the ladies to love all over her. Last, Jocelyn had her ENT appointment. We saw Dr. Robert Thompson. He has worked a lot with kiddos with Down syndrome which was good to know. He thinks that the congestion isn't anything to worry about and she will out grow. Mostly due to her small anatomy. He then used his microscope to look in her ears. Unfortunately, Jocelyn did not enjoy this and many tears were shed. The doctor then used a tympanogram to see how her ear drums responded to pressure. It showed that Jocelyn has fluid in both ears. Neither looked infected but none the less the fluid was present. This means that we are going to be rechecking her ears in 6 weeks and see what happens. If the fluid remains there for over 3 months, we may need to consider tubes at that time. So we will have to keep an eye on that. After that day, Jocelyn definitely slept well.
